Meet Hamish Hamilton – he may still be in his teens but odds are he has probably spent more time exploring New Zealand ocean and bush than the average Kiwi.
From freediving and fishing to pig hunting and predator trapping, for this 18-year-old, the outdoors “is his absolute happy place”.
Plus, he’s passionate about protecting native birds and bush and has aspirations of creating videos of his travels around New Zealand to inspire others to enjoy the special landscape and ocean of Aotearoa.
We caught up with this inspiring young adventurer recently when he was back home from a two-week stint off-grid. His story is worth reading and sharing.
