Aotearoa NZ's independent voice of fishing, hunting & outdoors

Fishing & Outdoors Vol 3 Issue 13

2 min read

In our last issue of the month, we introduce you to Adam Rickit – a Waikato fisherman and boatie who has created a business from his passion for exploring the ocean.

NZ Angler was born from a grand passion for all things outdoors; Adam is driven to nurture the hunter-gather instincts of other nature enthusiasts, particularly those who share his love for fishing. His website nzangler.co.nz aims to be a one-stop-shop, offering a wide range of products to ensure every outing is memorable.

We sat down for a chat with him to discuss his business, on- and off-water interests, and his favourite fishing spots in New Zealand.

In other news, Department of Conservation mandates COVID-19 vaccine in huts and campsites, four Waiheke Island fisheries have been closed for two years, and a Controlled Area Notice has been placed in parts of Great Barrier Island to prevent the spread of an invasive non-native seaweed that’s been found there.

And before we sign off, here’s a list that beats all other best Christmas gift lists. The top six things we think any hunter/angler/outdoorsy person would love to see under their Christmas tree.

And if you’d like the next online edition delivered straight to your mailbox, sign up for our free subscription!

We’ll be back next month, but in the meantime, you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.

Meri Kirihimeti and Happy Holidays from all of us to all of you.
