Summer in New Zealand offers a canvas of opportunities for outdoor exploration, with pristine beaches, lush trails, and breathtaking landscapes.

In the heart of this outdoor adventure scene, Lifestyle Gear emerges not just as a business but as a testament to a personal passion for simple, practical, and portable outdoor gear.

The Kiwi-owned and operated company was founded in 2014, and in 2017, Nicole Wise and Justin Ellis took over the business. Their mission is to curate a selection of international brands that resonate with the Kiwi spirit.

A case in point is the Otentik beach sunshade – a user-friendly and practical pop-up beach tent.

“Otentik started in 2011 and provides superior sun protection for the whole family.

“They are easy to set up and if the sun or wind changes direction, you can simply reposition the poles to create the shade you desire,” says Ellis.

The sunshades boast quality Italian material, UV50+ protection, and eye-catching designs that make them stand out.

“The clever design allows you to anchor your shelter using sandbags and utilises the environment keeping it lightweight, practical, and functional.”

Another offering that has proven to be popular among Kiwis is the TreePod – a portable haven designed for relaxation.

“Imagine being cocooned in the nurturing space of a TreePod where everything is geared towards relaxing the mind, body, and soul. TreePod is portable, fits into an over-shoulder bag, is easy to assemble, and can be put up anywhere as long as you have a single suspension hanging point,” says Ellis.
TreePods are easy to get in and out of, are sturdy and durable, and can hold up to 226kg.

The Flextail Max Pump adds a touch of versatility to the Lifestyle Gear collection. Weighing only 160gm, this multi-purpose device serves as an air pump with a built-in lantern and power bank.

“With an IP55 waterproof rating and a built-in 3600mAh USB-C rechargeable battery, it gives you enough power to fully charge an iPhone 12, or for the lantern to run for 76 hours. Due to its size, durability and ease of charging, we challenge you to find a more convenient all-purpose tool in New Zealand,”
says Ellis.

Based in Auckland, Lifestyle Gear is more than just an online store.

“Our business is not ‘faceless’. We have a phone number on our website and an email published so customers can contact us at any reasonable hour of the day.

“We ship all orders from our Auckland warehouse and stand behind what we offer. We are committed to sourcing original products through reputable suppliers or inventors and do not accept rip-offs or counterfeit products. As a result, you can be sure we will only bring you the best.”
